Evaluation experts highlighted Zhaotong’s “coexistence of residents and tourism,” praising it as a model that avoids over-commercialization while revitalizing cultural vitality—a benchmark for historic city conservation in Southwest China.

3. Public Voting Underway
Voting is open on the “Yunnan Housing and Urban-Rural Development” official website, with results to be announced in December 2025. Winners will receive provincial funding for heritage protection.
