Wuchidao Ancient Path Site Park Opens in Zhaotong Ancient City

1. Reviving the Qin-Han Era Trail
On October 18, 2025, the Wuchidao Ancient Path Site Park opened to the public near the southern gate of Zhaotong Ancient City. Built around authentic relics, the park reconstructs sections of the stone-paved trail, horse hoof imprints, and ancient relay stations, highlighting Wuchidao’s role as a key route on the Southern Silk Road.

2. Immersive Interactive Experience
Equipped with AR-guided tours, visitors can scan stone slabs with their smartphones to view animated caravans and listen to historical tales, such as Zhang Qian’s discovery of Shu brocade in Central Asia.

3. Cultural Heritage Demonstration Project
Jointly developed by Yunnan Provincial Cultural Heritage Administration and Zhaotong Municipal Government, it is the first site park in northeastern Yunnan dedicated to “ancient trail culture,” with plans to apply for provincial heritage utilization demonstration status.
