1. Historic Temple Restoration Finished
The Zhaotong Confucian Temple, originally built during the Qing Dynasty, completed a nearly two-year restoration project that began in early 2024. Key structures such as the Hall of Great Achievement, Lingxing Gate, and Pan Pond were restored using traditional craftsmanship and materials to preserve authenticity.
2. Enhanced Educational Role
The temple now features a "Confucius Classroom" and a "Six Arts Experience Pavilion," offering activities like ceremonial writing initiation, classic recitation, and guqin (Chinese zither) lessons for youth. Since autumn 2025, it has partnered with local schools to launch cultural study programs.
3. Free Access for Public
Since September 2025, the temple has been open to the public free of charge by reservation, welcoming over 12,000 visitors monthly—becoming a vital space for citizens to engage with Confucian heritage.
